Festival of Pattona at Agnino 2010

Published on 13 Aug, 2010 da Edoardo Stefani

Once again we head to discover new tastes, pausing to Agnino, a small village in Lunigiana, in the town of Fivizzano.
On days 21 to 25 August (excluding Monday 23) will be featuring the most famous dish of the area: the Pattona.
It is a characteristic traditional bread made with chestnut flour, water, salt and milk. The resulting mixture is placed on chestnut leaves to enhance the flavor and baked in the oven. Good alone is good if accompanied by cold meats or cheeses.
The evening will be enlivened by music and dancing and you can sample other local dishes.
This is an opportunity to visit the village of Agnino and the ruins of its historic castle where you can admire a splendid panorama of the valley.
